GUYS BIG NEWS--I got back the rights to Cracked and Crushed THIS MORNING! Do you know what this means?
Operation Free Meda is a go! The official release date will be September 22nd (I need a couple weeks to get my ducks in a row--formatting for ebooks, figuring out the covers, arranging the blog tour and whatnot). I'll be releasing an ecopy of both Cracked and Crushed (also, as a side note, Angry Robot will only be selling print copies of Cracked until December, after which they will no longer be available--so if you want one, get it soon!) To all the bloggers who were awesome enough to offer to be part of my blog tour: first off, thanks. I love you. Seriously. Secondly, you’ll be getting an email from me soon to talk details and schedule. And lastly, I know it’s really short notice, so please, please don’t feel obligated to squish me in if you already have a full schedule. I appreciate your even offering. In conclusion: WOO-HOOOOOO!!! Tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell your mom: MEDA IS COMING. Stay tuned for a giveaway as I'm the only person on this side of the world who doesn't need a copy. (I may have already read it a time or two...)
Thanks for all the messages, everyone. Sorry for the radio silence. I decided to unplug for the rest of the weekend and try not to dwell. It didn't work, but at least I had a lot of free-time to make my baby a ridiculous headband. -------------------------------------------------------------> She must have been feeling bad for me--she left it on for at least 10 minutes. Then I logged on this morning, and holy shit--the number of unread emails listed next to my gmail account made me think there was some kind of glitch. So many of you sent me nice messages--from fans to book bloggers offering to help, and notifications of "likes" and comments from GR. You have all just been amazing. It goes to show there really is a silver lining to everything. As for an update, I still have no idea what's going to happen or what I'm going to do. We still haven't heard anything official yet from the Osprey people. My agent was told that the rights to Crushed would revert, but we don't have anything in writing, so we're stuck in limbo waiting for the dust to settle. We also don't know what's going to happen to Cracked. The prevailing theory is that it will be swallowed into Angry Robot, but I'm not sure what that means, and whether it will still be available in hard copy--though I guess we'll find out pretty soon, since it looks like Amazon currently has less than a dozen hard copies left. In any case, once I do know what's going to happen, I'll be sure to keep you updated. Thanks again, Eliza Hi Everyone,
So you may or may not have heard, but my publisher, Strange Chemistry, is no more, effective immediately. This means they won’t be publishing Crushed after all. It’s a shock; I literally found out yesterday. It’s seven weeks before Crushed was to be released and I have no publisher and no plan, and very little information from the Angry Robot/Osprey folks to go on. But I will tell you this: I don’t know how, and I don’t exactly when, but watch for it, because Meda is coming. Crushed will be released if I have to self-pub it. If you want to help: (1) Assuming I end up self-pubbing, I’ll need to put together my own blog tour—so if you have a book blog, I’d love to be on it. Email me: elizacrewe at gmail (2) Spread the word—like Cracked, like Crushed? Tell people. (3) Buy my books And one last thing, please keep an eye out for the other SC refugees. They are some good folks with some good books, and man, my heart is breaking for the debut authors especially. At least I’ve gotten to see my book, hold it in my hands, and read all your hilarious gif- and profanity-laden reviews. They were SO CLOSE to having their dreams come true. It’s tough guys. Tough. It was a great experience, publishing with Strange Chemistry. Amanda Rutter was a fantastic editor to work with, and if any of you have had the pleasure of interacting with Caroline Lamb, PR-person extraordinaire, you’ll understand why this is so especially sad, not just on a professional level, but a personal one, too. As for my Indian fans, as far as I know (I’ll now be adding that caveat to any publishing plan!), Penguin is still planning to release the whole trilogy on the Indian sub-continent, so it’s business as usual in your part of the world (woot!). Thanks for all the support guys, it means the world to me. E. Crewe. Isn't it glorious? Meda’s back. This time, she has a friend.
The battle is over; the choice has been made. Meda Melange has officially hung up her monstrous mantle and planted her feet firmly on the holy and righteous path of a Crusader-in-training. Or, at least, she’s willing to give it a shot. It helps that the Crusaders are the only thing standing between her and the demon hordes who want her dead. The problem is, the only people less convinced than Meda of her new-found role as Good Girl are the very Crusaders she’s trying to join. So when a devilishly handsome half-demon boy offers escape, how’s a girl supposed to say “no?” After all, everyone knows a good girl’s greatest weakness is a bad boy.
